New York Yankees vs Kansas City Royals ALDS Game Player Stats and Box Scores for October 7
The New York Yankees played the Kansas City Royals for ALDS Game 2 in the Bronx. The Yankees sent Carlos Rodon to the mound, who started out well by striking out the side in the first inning. Rodon looked fired up on the mound with his pitching prowess.
The Royals sent Cole Ragans to the mound as their starter in Game 2. Ragans recorded a couple of walks, while Anthony Volpe recorded a hit and stole second base but was unable to score in the second. Rodon prevented the Royals from scoring in the first three innings.
The Yanks had a strong hit from Giancarlo Stanton that drove Gleyber Torres home to give them a 1-0 lead at the bottom of the third. However, veteran catcher Salvador Perez went deep to tie the game at the top of the fourth.
Garrett Hampson recorded an RBI single to give the Royals a lead in the top of the fourth. Rodon was forced to get off the mound after falling apart with the Royals and surrendering four runs.
The Yanks had several pitchers come in after Rodon, including Ian Hamilton, Jake Cousins, Tim Hill, and Clay Holmes. The bullpen showed up with an incredible performance as the Royals were unable to score. Rodon suffered the loss after his struggling start, forcing the Yanks to enter Game 4.

Salvador Perez and Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit home runs tonight
Salvador Perez was the first to hit a home run in the game deep to left field as Rodon watched it fly. Jazz Chisholm Jr. cut the lead to half after smashing a home run at the bottom of the ninth inning.
Jon Berti managed to get on base but Gleyber Torres had a groundout that was turned into a double play. The Bronx Bombers will lose their home-field advantage as they enter Game 3 at Kauffman Stadium.
Clarke Schmidt is the predicted starter while the Royals are yet to announce their starting pitcher. Both teams are tied at 1-1, and the Yanks are still the favorite team to win Game 3.
