NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes sheds light on the monumental impact of Negro Leagues in MLB The Show
American football quarterback and NFL hot property Patrick Mahomes has lauded the addition of the Negro League Museum to MLB The Show.
MLB The Show is a Major League Baseball video game created and produced by San Diego Studio. The series has been the sole MLB baseball simulation video game on the market since 2014.
MLB The Show 23 will feature eight of the greatest Negro League players in a new game mode called "Storylines."
Patrick Mahomes described the addition of Negro League legends as "just another step in the right direction.”

Speaking about the Negro League Baseball Museum (NLBM) in Kansas City during Super Bowl LVII Opening Night on FS1, Patrick Mahomes described it as a "special place."
“Yea, the Negro League Museum in Kansas City is a special place. Uhm, the way they run, and the history that you learn from being in that museum, it is something I would recommend everybody going to,” Mahomes added.
The NLBM gained traction when it began highlighting the hurdles players of color had to overcome back in the day. Social injustice and prejudice in the country were common and their passion and perseverance changed Major League Baseball and America forever.
Mahomes concluded by admitting that he's been to the museum more than once. He particularly enjoys listening to the Director of The Negro Baseball League Museum, Bob Kendrick.
“To just be in that museum and learn the history, I’ve been more than once, I go a lot and just listen to Bob Kendrick talk, because he’s a great dude,” Mahomes concluded.
Kendrick’s exceptional leadership, charisma, and storytelling have taken the museum to greater heights in the past couple of years. It has also helped the general public take greater notice of the leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes became a member of the ownership group of the Kansas City Royals in 2020.

Royals principal owner Jon Sherman announced the move in absolute delight, noting that Mahomes spent a lot of time in clubhouses as a kid.
Mahomes' dad (Pat Mahomes) pitched in the major league as a reliever in over 300 games. He plied his trade with the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
