Marquez, a right-handed pitcher, has been with the Cardinals since 2016, winning an All-Star nod in 2021, and a Silver Slugger nod in 2018. He was teammates with Arenado for five years as the 33-year-old slugger left the team for St. Louis in 2021, after making his debut with Colorado in 2013.

The Cardinals are now looking to rebuild with youngsters and rumors persist that Arenado is not part of the plans. Adding fuel to the fire, the 8x All-Star recently hinted at a potential move to the Dodgers with a cryptic Instagram post.
