“Oh lord. He got a rocket in his pocket” - Snoop Dogg gets introduced to Elly De La Cruz in Brewers booth as Reds star shows off cannon arm
Legendary rapper and 17-time Grammy nominee Snoop Dogg was at American Family Field cheering for the Milwaukee Brewers, who were up against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. The rapper joined the Bally Sports Wisconsin broadcast booth to perform announcer duties.
Snoop had some classy remarks while he was calling the game and one such remark came in for the Reds' shortstop, Elly De La Cruz. During one play, a Brewers batter hit one away from De La Cruz's shortstop position, but the infielder made a sensational play to throw the batter out at first base. That led the rapper to exclaim:
“Oh lord. He got a rocket in his pocket,” Snoop said referring to De La Cruz's cannon arm.
This was not the only great content from Snoop Dogg in the booth. The rapper performed full-fledged announcing duties in the second inning of the game and the Brewers social media team put it out on the internet for everyone to enjoy.
Snoop Dogg shows off dance moves before throwing first pitch
Snoop Dogg got the crowd buzzing when he made his way to the mound to throw the ceremonial first pitch at American Family Field. He matched the vibe of the ground by putting on some moves before throwing a strike to Brewers first base coach Quintin Berry.
After the pitch, Snoop Dogg greeted the Milwaukee Brewers team and made pitcher Byrse Wilson's day.
“I got a picture with him,” right-hander Bryse Wilson said per Last Word on Sports. “That’s one of the cooler if not the coolest experience that I’ve had as a professional baseball player. I mean, you look at him and he’s like, ‘Oh, he’s as A-list as it gets and it’s like, you know, unless you play for the Dodgers I feel like you never get to meet that guy. I mean, that was awesome. That was super cool.”
Wilson helped the Brewers with his 5.1 scoreless innings in a 3-1 win. Joey Ortiz hit a three-run shot in the fifth inning to claim the victory.
