Olivia Dunne's 4-word reaction to Paul Skenes' bold challenge against Elly De La Cruz, Gunnar Henderson
Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz and Gunnar Henderson are all fighting it out to become the new face of the popular game MLB The Show. All three young stars are coming off an exceptional season with Skenes winning the Rookie of the Year, Henderson receiving AL MVP votes and De La Cruz leading the majors with 67 stolen bases.
Last week, MLB The Show 25 released a teaser on their social media accounts. However, it didn't reveal the cover, giving way for a fun banter among the above three.
First of all, the Reds infielder went to his Instagram and claimed he was the cover of MLB The Show 25.
"The is Elly De La Cruz from the Cinncinati Reds and I'm excited to be on the cover of MLB The Show 25. You already I'mma beat everyone," he said in the video.
The Baltimore Orioles star didn't like what he saw as Henderson released a video of his own claiming he thought he was on the cover.
"Sup Everyone. I heard that Elly was gonna be on the cover of MLB The Show 25 but I thought it was supposed to be me so Elly call me," Henderson said in the video.
The Pittsburgh Pirates ace wasn't just going to sit tight and watch it all unfold.
"This is Paul Skenes. Gunnar, Elly, I heard you guys claiming the cover of MLB The Show and just let you know that the cover is mine so let's settle this before cover drops," Skenes said in a video.
Seeing this banter, Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne reacted:
"Things are getting heated."
Has MLB The Show 25 actually named who will be on the cover between Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz and Gunnar Henderson?
No. MLB The Show 25 did release the teaser, but it didn't have anything to suggest who among Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz and Gunnar Henderson will be on the cover.
So, fans will have to wait to learn whose claim was true. The game is generally released in March, so expect the name to be unveiled sometime in February.
If Skenes made the cover, he would only be the second Pirates player to be on the cover. Previously, outfielder Andrew McCutchen made the cover in MLB The Show 13.
