"Orioles never beating the allegations"; "Hand hunting this year"- MLB fans aim jibes at O's as Cody Bellinger leaves game after hit-by-pitch

Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger was drilled on his hands by Baltimore Orioles reliever Cionel Perez in the seventh inning of Wednesday's game at Camden Yards.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell and medical trainer had a brief conversation with Bellinger, who stayed for the inning but was ultimately replaced in right field by Miles Mastrobuoni ahead of the bottom seventh.

The Orioles have had several hit-by-pitch incidents this season, especially against the Yankees, leading to injuries. This had some fans irked, as they called out the team.

"Orioles are hand hunting this year," one commented.
"Another Orioles victim right in the hands," another wrote.
"Orioles never beating the allegations," another quipped.

The barrage continued as many termed the Orioles a "dirty team."

"Orioles are a dirty team," one wrote.
"Orioles fans will say they’ve hit the least amount of hitters but they only hit the big name players👀" another added.
"Typically orioles pitcher. Dirty team," another posted.

The Orioles' offense underwhelmed on Wednesday as they could not muster any runs against the Cubs. Shota Imanaga continues with his good form, throwing six scoreless innings in which he allowed seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts.

The Cubs bullpen held the fort as Luke Little, Porter Hodge and Hector Neris also went scoreless to defeat the Orioles 4-0.

As for the offense, Cubs' third baseman Christopher Morel hit a solo shot in top of the second against Corbin Burnes. Nico Herner, Michael Busch and Seiya Suzuki each contributed with an RBI as well. Cody Bellinger went 2-3 before exiting the game in the seventh.

With the MLB trade deadline only weeks away, an injury to a tradeable asset like Cody Bellinger could affect the team's plans. Many teams have reportedly shown interest in acquiring the outfielder but if there's any injury, they will no longer want to trade for him.

Nonetheless, the Cubs improved to 44-49 with the win. The two teams meet again on Thursday for the final game of the series.
