Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne takes a dip in Gulf Shores with LSU teammate sporting yellow beachwear
Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne, along with her LSU teammates, took some time off from practice to enjoy Gulf Shores, a city in Alabama with beaches, trails and a pier.
On Saturday, Dunne posted an Instagram story with fellow gymnast Kathryn Weilbacher from inside a bus that was carrying the team to the Gulf Shores. In another snap, Skenes and teammate Alyona Shchennikova swam near the coast in yellow and dark blue swimwear, respectively.
In another series of snaps, this time posted on Snapchat, Olivia Dunne shared more memories the Tigers gymnasts made while on their way to Gulf Shores. She posted a candid picture with Alexis Jeffrey, Chase Brock and Haleigh Bryant, while KJ Johnson was snapped using her phone. Dunne also captured two freshmen, Victoria Roberts and Lexi Zeiss in her snaps.
Olivia Dunne announces her return for fifth and final year with LSU
Many thought Olivia Dunne would leave the college landscape after winning the NCAA championship with the LSU Tigers in April. However, she surprised many in July when she announced her return and tapped in on her fifth and last year of eligibility.
"There’s something about putting on a purple and gold leotard," Dunne said. "There’s something about competing in front of 13,000 screaming Tiger fans. There’s something about being pushed by your coaches to do your very best. And there’s something about being part of a team that made school history.
"No matter how many opportunities come my way off the mat, there’s just something about LSU. And that’s why I’m here to say, I’m not Dunne yet."
Joining Livvy Dunne for their respective last years were Haleigh Bryant, Sierra Ballard, Chase Brock and Alyona Shchennikova. Under returning coach Jay Clark, the team hopes to defend its crown in the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Dunne's boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes, is lighting up the MLB in his debut season. The righty pitcher, selected first overall in the 2023 MLB draft, is considered by many to be the runaway leader for the National League Rookie of the Year award.
