Pete Alonso's wife Haley celebrates 'Ohio Thanksgiving' with ex-Mets free agent
Pete Alonso had a strong 2024 season. Renowned for his powerful style of play, the "Polar Bear" hit the ball out of the park on 34 occasions in the recently concluded campaign.
Alonso was a key part of New York Mets coach Carlos Mendoza's plans all season and played a big role in their historic push to the NLCS for the first time since 2015. A constant pillar of support for the veteran first baseman is his wife, Haley Renee. Now that the season is done and dusted, it appears the four-time All-Star is making sure to spend plenty of quality time with his better half.
On Friday, Haley took to Instagram to post a series of stories, giving fans a sneak peek into how the Alonsos celebrated Thanksgiving. This year, the couple decided to celebrate in Columbus, Ohio.

They attended college in different states. Pete Alonso went to Florida and reportedly first crossed paths with Haley from Michigan State when he played in the Cape Cod League. The couple went on to date for a few years before announcing their engagement in 2018 and married in 2021.

As Pete Alonso fought tooth and nail on the field, his wife Haley watched him frequently and cheered him every step of the way. Her support was recognized by Alonso, as he took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute in October 2023.
"This season was a wild ride. I wish we could have been the last team standing, but the baseball gods will reward hard work and determination sometime in the future. Despite everything, I couldn’t do what I do without my wife and my rock by my side every day and night ♥️ 2024 is a going to be a year of high aspirations and positive manifestations coming into fruition. #LFGM," Pete Alonso wrote.
Alonso can afford to take his mind away from the field for a few months, as he focuses on spending time with his loved ones, which is rare during the hectic schedule of a 162-game season. The focus shifts back to baseball in the new year, with spring training usually starting in early February.
Now a free agent, Pete Alonso also has a huge decision on his hands as to where he'll play next season.
