Pete Alonso's wife Haley 'fired up' for Shohei Ohtani vs. Francisco Lindor NLCS showdown after Dodgers' NLDS win over Padres
Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor were the Mets' standout players in the impressive NLDS victory over the favored Phillies on Wednesday. Alonso had a stellar performance in the series, recording a combined four hits in 13 at-bats, scoring three runs and launching two home runs while driving in three RBIs.
Lindor also shined, collecting a combined five hits in 18 at-bats and scoring four runs, including a homer, with five RBIs. His sole homer was the grand slam in game 4, putting his team ahead and eventually winning.
With Shohei Ohtani's Dodgers winning their NLDS against the Padres, Pete Alonso's wife Haley revealed her excitement for the Mets vs. Dodgers NLCS showdown via her Instagram story.
Haley shared the Mets vs. Dodgers NLCS poster featuring Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani against Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso with the caption, "let's gooooo", with a fired-up emoji.
Ohtani is the favorite to win the NL MVP, and Lindor is the only other candidate offering a serious threat to the Japanese superstar. Ohtani fans believe his record-breaking season warrants the MVP title.
However, Lindor fans point to Ohtani's role as a DH, and the Mets shortstop's exceptional overall game to make a case for their star. Another argument is Lindor's importance to the Mets, which many believe is greater than Ohtani's to the Dodgers.
