Philadelphia Phillies fans react to new shortstop Trea Turner fouling a ball into a car at batting practice: "Immaculate vibes" "It’s so beautiful"

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner is already making an impact with his new team. Literally. Turner was filmed during his first batting practice with the Phillies on Thursday. A few strokes into his cagework, he smacked a foul ball out into the parking area and hit a parked car.

His new teammates made sure to mildly razz Turner about the suitcase full of money that got him to leave the Los Angeles Dodgers for the City of Brotherly Love.

Shouts of "I've got $30 million reasons why he'll pay for that," and "He can afford it," were squawked at a laughing Turner as he continued to take BP.

“I’ve got $30 million reasons why he’ll pay for that” 😂

“He can afford it” 😂

Trea Turner’s first BP on the first day for pitchers and catchers, hits a car with a foul ball. The Phillies let the new $300 million man have it! 😂😂 https://t.co/C4xL2TPGyh

Fans immediately rushed to Turner's defense. Many joked that if the ball Turner hit damaged the car, then clearly it was the car's fault.

The "Immaculate Vibes" that the Philadelphia Phillies had last season when they barely squeezed their way into the final National League playoff spot, only to catch postseason fire and claim the NL pennant before falling to the heavily-favored Houston Astros, are still vibing. Rather than dissipating, the signing of Trea Turner may have only enhanced them.

In the meantime, a few things beat the first few days of Spring Training as the long cold winter nears a conclusion. Players are loose, fans are optimistic, every team has a clean slate.
