PHOTO: Alex Bregman's wife Reagan captures touching moment of son Knox reuniting with Astros star dad in heartfelt embrace
Alex Bregman was missed by his son Knox, as the Houston Astros third baseman was away on a road trip to play against the New York Mets and the Toronto Blue Jays at Citi Field and the Rogers Centre for seven games.
So when he returned to Houston, the father-son duo embraced with a reunion hug, which his wife Reagan shared on social media. However, the moment was short-lived, as Bregman traveled to Minnesota to play a three-game series against the Twins at Target Field.
Moreover, Knox and his mother, Reagan, are often spotted attending Astros games at Minute Maid Park to cheer for Alex Bregman. Their love for baseball extends to their backyard, with the duo playing wiffle ball whenever they get time.
Although Reagan didn't know anything about baseball before, after marrying Bregman, she learned about it and also taught the same to Knox, who seems to have kind of developed a love for the game.
"(Reagan) taught him a lot about baseball," Bregman said. "She didn't know much about baseball at all when we first met really, now she loves it."
Knox interrupts Alex Bregman's press conference to visit dugout and batting cage
A couple of weeks ago, after Alex Bregman had helped the Houston Astros beat the Orioles for a series win, the third baseman was interacting with reporters when Knox interrupted his press conference with a request to visit dugout and batting cage at Minute Maid Park.
"Dada, Dada, batting cage,” said Knox.
“Cage, dugout.”“He’s been begging all weekend,” Bregman said in a video shared by Astros beat reporter Brian McTaggart on X. “He wants to go to the (batting) cage and the dugout. So we’re gonna take him to the cage and the dugout.”
After completing his interview, Alex Bregman fulfilled his son's request and took him to the batting cage.
On the baseball front, Bregman is hitting .251 with nine home runs, 37 RBIs and two stolen bases. It's an important year for the third baseman, as he will become a free agent after this season if the Houston Astros don't offer him an extension.
