In the opening game of a four-game tilt with the Pittsburgh Pirates at home, Chase Carter and Mallory Swanson showed full support for their husbands, Cody Bellinger and Dansby Swanson, respectively. Accompanying them were Jameson Taillon's wife, Claire Petratis, and Ian Happ's girlfriend, Julie Mazur.

In an Instagram story, Carter shared a photo of the quartet enjoying their time in the stands.

The Cubs, though, got narrowly beaten by the Pirates, 5-4. The Northsiders also dropped consecutive games behind a no-hit, six inning performance by rookie Paul Skenes.

The Chicago Cubs have been one of the most surprising teams in the league. The Cubbies hold the second spot in the National League Central with a 25-20 record.

Coming into the season, the Cubs flew under the radar, and almost no one expected them to contend for a postseason spot. However, 30-year-old rookie Shota Imanga has been the linchpin of the squad, and with the help of the hot bats, the team is off to a strong start.

Mallory Swanson stars for club and country

Dansby and Mallory Swanson are the biggest sports power couple in the Windy City. Dansby stars for the MLB's Chicago Cubs, while Swanson for the NWSL's Chicago Red Stars.

Swanson assumed the striker role in the team and has been a staple of the lineup since her debut season in 2021. In a recent game with the Utah Royals, Swanson scored a penalty kick to push her goal tally to three in eight games this season.

Before scoring the penalty, the soccer star also dished out an assist to Jessica Bike, which gave Swanson a unique statistic as a Red Star.

"6 - Mallory Swanson has recorded a goal and an assist in the same match for the sixth time since joining @chicagoredstars in 2021, more than any other player in the #NWSL in that time. Signature." -@OptaJack

Considered as one of the top stars of the new generation of the USWNT, Swanson has been capped by the national team 90 times since 2016. She has also scored 32 goals for the United States National Women's team.
