Freddie Freeman & his family turn heads in L.A. post-Dodgers' massive win over Yankees in World Series 2024
Freddie Freeman and his family were warmly greeted in the city of Los Angeles, with fans jamming up the entire roads for the World Series victory parade on Friday. Freeman and the Los Angeles Dodgers ended up grabbing their eighth title after beating the New York Yankees in five games.
During the parade, Freddie Freeman and his wife, Chelsea co-posted a family picture on their Instagram with their three kids on top of the Dodgers' open top bus.
"Thank You, LA," they wrote.
Freddie Freeman was decked out in Dodgers World Series champion gear while wearing sunglasses, while Chelsea was wearing a white one-shoulder top with Freeman's No. 5 in front.
Sons Charlie and Brandon were standing in front, while Freddie held their youngest son Max in his arm.
In the post, they also added a video of the fans covering the players' bus, and celebrating the victory with them together.
Freddie Freeman named MVP of the 2024 World Series
Freddie Freeman was ready to prove himself for the Dodgers and wanted to grab the ring again after doing it once with the Atlanta Braves back in 2021. However, right before the postseason, he sprained his right ankle, so very little was expected of the first baseman.
Freeman had already been a respected player in baseball after all he'd achieved in his 15-year-long tenure in the major league. But he added to that with his amazing World Series performance, including his walk-off grand slam in Game 1.
In just five games, Freeman was able to tie the record of 12 RBIs in the World Series, held before by Bobby Richardson, who did it in seven games back in 1960.
"I did a lot of work in between the NLCS and the World Series," Freeman said per MLB.com. "Thankfully, my ankle got into a good spot where I could work on my swing, and found a cue that really worked for me."
"I was able to slow things down. All you're trying to do is swing at strikes, take balls and hit the mistakes. Thankfully, I was able to do that for five games."
With his excellent performance, Freeman won the Willy Mayes World Series Most Valuable Player this year.
