Pirates All-Star rookie pitcher Paul Skenes' girlfriend, Olivia Dunne, has been enjoying time off after announcing her fifth-year commitment with the LSU Tigers gymnastics team. Livvy has been having a stellar year, as LSU claimed its maiden NCAA title in April before Dunne signed a deal with Passes.com to become the highest-earning collegiate athlete in America.
In her latest Instagram story, which she uploaded on Saturday night, Olivia Dunne was seen sipping champagne while rocking a black bodycon dress inside a high-end fashion store in Chicago, Illinois. Take a look at a screenshot of the story here:
Olivia Dunne has been exceptional in carrying herself with grace both on and off the mat.
Besides achieving individual and team glory with the Tigers, she has actively cheered for Paul Skenes through all his starts at PNC Park this season. The duo, having met only last year on the grounds of Lousiana State University, have turned into a power couple at a young age.
Olivia Dunne has and is working with some of the top brands in America, which has boosted her NIL earnings manifold. Her mass fan following across social media handles has helped her keep a huge fan base as she actively posts images and videos of her daily life.
Although Skenes doesn't stay too active on social media, the searing strike thrower has made a name for himself in other ways as well.
Paul helped the Tigers claim the College World Series last year, soon after which the Pittsburgh Pirates selected him as the No. 1 overall pick in the MLB draft and gave him a $9.6 million signing bonus. Since making his MLB debut in May, Skenes has rushed to a 6-0 record with 89 strikeouts, a 1.90 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP.
He became the only player in major league history to get selected for the Midsummer Classic in their debut season.
Paul Skenes was ecstatic on receiving the All-Star nod
Paul Skenes reflected on his selection for the MLB All-Star game in his debut season by saying:
"Obviously, starting the year in Triple-A, the odds of going to the Major League All-Star Game are pretty slim, so that wasn't one of my goals necessarily or expectations for this season. It's just a huge honor that I'm able to do it, after playing just a short span in the big leagues."
Skenes' discipline on the mound and sheer will to keep achieving more have bore fruitful, as he will headline the Midsummer Classic games among the best ballplayers in the MLB on Tuesday in Arlington, Texas.
