"Picking everything he is going to wear" - Albert Pujols' wife Nicole reveals her favorite role in Cardinals iconic slugger's everyday life
St Louis Cardinals legend Albert Pujols' fashion sense can be attributed to his wife, Nicole, whom he married in September 2023 following his split from his first wife, Deidre, after 22 years of marriage. On Monday, Nicole shared a snap of Pujols at a clothing store, where Pujols browsed suits. Nicole claimed to be the brains behind Pujols' dressing.
"One of the things I enjoy the most is being his stylist, picking everything he is going to wear every season," she wrote in the caption.
Nicole and Albert Pujols reportedly started dating months after the Cardinals legend's divorce from Deidre in April 2022. Their relationship culminated in marriage in September last year.
Nicole is the daughter of the former president of the Dominican Republic, Lionel Fernandez. She has experience working as a journalist.
Albert Pujols split with Deidre after the latter underwent brain surgery
Before Nicole came into Albert Pujols' life, the Cardinals legend was married to Deidre since Jan. 2000. However, after she underwent successful surgery to remove a brain tumor in April 2022, Pujols sent shockwaves by announcing his split with Deidre.
“I’ve been asked a lot of questions over the past few days regarding what’s been going on at home and sadly, after 22 years of marriage, I have made the decision to file for divorce from my wife, Deidre,” Pujols said in a statement released by his agent, Dan Lozano.
“I realize this is not the most opportune time with Opening Day approaching and other family events that have recently taken place. These situations are never easy and isn’t something that just happened overnight.”
As per the divorce agreement finalized in Aug. 2023, the five children they share will stay with Deidre 70% of the time. Moreover, Pujols will have to pay $20,000 in monthly child support and $5,000 per month to their adult daughter Isabella until she can set herself up. In return, the MLB legend would retain his properties and luxurious car collection.
