"Rate these at-bats" - Trevor Bauer challenges followers to judge one of his performances during Mexican League outing
Love him or hate him, Trevor Bauer has successfully kept himself in the spotlight despite not pitching in the MLB since 2021. The former Cy Young Award winner has been plying his trade in the Mexican League with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico, proving that he still has plenty of life left in his arm and also maintaining his infectious personality.
While Trevor Bauer has continued to pitch well for his club, he has also done a solid job documenting his journey in the Mexican League for his social media followers. Bauer frequently posts about his performances and strikeouts while also trolling some of his opponents.
In his latest post on X, Bauer posed a challenge to his followers to rate three different at-bats during one of his Mexican League outings. While some may not be a fan of Bauer, he is undeniably effective as a social media personality.
"Rate these at-bats 1,3, or 5 stars," Bauer asked his followers.
In the video, Bauer highlights three different at-bats with varying results. In the first one, the former LA Dodgers pitcher was able to force a ground ball to his shortstop Juan Carlos Gamboa. The infielder tossed the ball to first base, resulting in an out.
The second at-bat was less successful for Bauer as the veteran pitcher missed on four straight fastballs to walk the batter. Although he may have been trying to work on his pitch location, missing on the same throw four times in a row is never the best at-bat.
"4-pitch walk, what's your rating, 1, 3 or 5 stars? Might not be what you think," Bauer asked of the second at-bat.
On the third at-bat, which was the most impressive, Trevor Bauer used his variety of pitches to record an impressive strikeout. After getting the pitch count to 1-2, the former Cincinnati Reds ace used his wicked curveball to make his opponent swing and miss in embarrassing fashion.
Trevor Bauer and the Diablos are currently battling for the Mexican League title
As Bauer looks to earn another opportunity in the MLB, he has been an effective pitcher in the Mexican League. After earning an All-Star selection, he and his club find themselves with the opportunity to secure the title on Monday night.
Heading into Monday, Bauer's Diablos Rojos del Mexico hold a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Sultanes de Monterrey. Trevor Bauer started the game on Sunday and helped his squad pick up a clutch 2-0 victory.
Now just one win away from the championship, it seems likely that Trevor Bauer will be adding a Mexican League title to his trophy case.
