"Right on it, dude" - Trevor Bauer trolls Mexican League opponent after nasty curveball strikeout
Trevor Bauer continues his dominance in the Mexican League this season as he attempts to earn another contract in the majors. The 33-year-old, who has not pitched in the MLB since 2021, has been trying to rebuild both his value and reputation after sexual assault allegations derailed his All-Star career. Although he was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing, Bauer has yet to receive an offer.
He has been showcasing his pitch arsenal with the Diablos Rojos del México of the Mexican League this season. One of the ways that he has documented his journey in Mexico is through his social media account, often posting videos of his impressive strikeouts and firey personality.
In his latest post, Bauer showed off yet another strikeout, this time with the use of a nasty curveball. He kicked off the video with back-to-back fastballs for strikes which both fooled his opponent. The fact that both pitches were in the low-90s, confused Bauer and his plan of attack. He then opted to go with an off-speed pitch, with optimal results.
"Right on it dude," Bauer said after his filthy curveball made his opponent swing and miss without even getting close to the pitch.
The strikeout in the video that the former Cincinnati Reds ace recorded was the just one of many that he has been collecting in Mexico. Through 83.1 innings this season, Bauer has posted a 10-0 record with 120 strikeouts, not only helping the Diablos Rojos del México climb to the top of the standings but also helped him earn an All-Star selection.
Trevor Bauer will take to mound again on Monday as he looks to continue his tremendous season
The former LA Dodgers star has seen limited action lately after gastrointestinal discomfort kept him away from his team. However, Bauer is back and ready to contribute to a potentially deep playoff run for his club. The star pitcher is slated to take to the mound for the team's first game against the Leones de Yucatán in the postseason.
After missing some time, Trevor Bauer will be able to show potential suitors his ability to bounceback from injury and some adversity. Despite his strong performances this year, Bauer's MLB future remains murky at best. Even though he was cleared from the allegations, he has yet to recieve any real interest from major league clubs.
