Royce Lewis enjoys Jhoan Duran bamboozling batters with plus 100mph pitching; recalls idol Carlos Correa's accurate forecast of 2017 MLB draft
Royce Lewis has quickly turned into one of the most exciting players in the MLB. The ultra-talented Minnesota Twins infielder is among the most electric and dynamic players in the league when he is healthy. While avoiding injuries has been Lewis' biggest obstacle throughout his short MLB career, when he is in the lineup, he is must-watch television.
One of the other reasons why Royce Lewis has become a fan-favorite for the Twins is his charming personality. He has never been one to shy away from sharing stories about himself and his teammates.
In an interview with Taylor Jones of Baseball on Fanatics View, Lewis shared who among his teammates is his favorite to watch when putting in work: Jhoan Duran.

In the interview, Lewis was asked about facing 100 mph pitches, and more specifically those from Minnesota Twins reliever Jhoan Duran. The 26-year-old from the Dominican Republic has made a name for himself by consistently hitting triple-digits with his fastball.
"[2:48] When Duran's in there he can keep you off balance like that because he throws 102 and he's got movement on the 100," Lewis said about the Twins' flamethrower Jhoan Duran.
Although Lewis will not talk down any of his teammates, there is no denying how difficult it is for opponents to battle Duran. Over his three seasons in the MLB, Duran has racked up 217 strikeouts, with plenty more on the horizon for the Twins' reliever.
Royce Lewis also spoke of his relationship with teammate Carlos Correa, one of his favorite players of all-time
Lewis also provided fans with an insight into some of his favorite players growing up, including Derek Jeter and his teammate Carlos Correa. The young infielder explained that he met Correa before they became teammates with Minnesota, and said that he spoke to him before he was drafted in 2017.
"He brought it into the universe, he made it happen, he foresaw everything coming," Lewis said of Correa predicting him to go first overall in the 2017 MLB Draft.
Lewis also said that he is unsure if Carlos Correa foresaw them playing on the same team together, however, he added that it is an honor to play alongside one of his favorite players.
Both Correa and Lewis will need to keep slugging as the Minnesota Twins try to maintain their grasp on an American League Wild Card spot.
