"Slay" - Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne celebrates Pirates star's 'no-hit' innings against Brewers
Pirates ace strike thrower Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne couldn't oversee the right-hander pitch in Thursday night's start against the Milwaukee Brewers but didn't hold back from celebrating his emphatic win.
Paul dominated in his 11th start of the campaign, helping the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 1-0 Game 3 win to close a tightly contested NL Central Series away from home.
While Livvy was gearing up to attend the ESPY awards in Los Angeles, California, she posted an Instagram story to celebrate Skene's sixth win of the campaign. The caption on her story read:
"Slay."
Paul Skenes has created history by becoming the first big league player to make it to the Midsummer Classic in their maiden season. In his last start of the first half of the 2024 season, he pitched a no-hitter against the Brewers at the American Family Field.
He gave up no runs on zero hits, walked one batter and struck out a career-high 11 batters in seven innings to improve his record to 6-0 for the season.
Paul boasts a 1.90 ERA with 89 strikeouts and a 0.92 WHIP. Since making his big league debut in May, the former Tugers ace hasn't looked back, as he has continued to strike out some of the best hitters in the league.
He has garnered support from both home and away fans, but none like his girlfriend Olivia Dunne, who has been present for all of his MLB starts at PNC Park this season.
The power couple has been excelling in their respective domains, as Livvy announced a fifth year with the Tigers gymnastics on Monday. She even threw a surprise party for Skenes after he received the All-Star nod on Sunday.

Fans will be eager to find out whether Paul Skenes starts the Midsummer Classic on Tuesday. But that decision will depend on NL manager Torey Lovullo as the baseball world gets ready for the MLB All-Star game in Arlington, Texas.
