“So they can s*** even more?” - White Sox fans lash out as team decides to cut payroll in 2025

No other team has had it worse than the Chicago White Sox this season. After firing their manager and recording their worst season in franchise history, they have no other option but to rebuild and come back stronger next year.

But Chicago will cut its payroll in 2025, as per USA Today's Bob Nightengale. The reason behind this decision is the substantial loss in revenue for the 2024 season. It's been a tough time for the ball club as hundreds of fans did not turn up to watch games at the stadium.

Fans took to social media to vent their frustration on the team's decision to cut payroll for their 2025 MLB season.

Here's a look at some of the fan reactions on X.

"So they can s*** even more?" wrote one fan on X.
"They are going to make a movie about this team," another fan responded.
"The entire White Sox front office deserves life in prison," another fan chipped in.

Comments continued to flow as fans were unhappy about the team's situation.

"A team that has 115 losses already is cutting payroll. But is angry at owners like Steve Cohen for spending. Jerry Reinsdorf literally does not care about winning," one fan wrote, blasting the White Sox owner.
"Couldn't possibly get worse, could it? 2025 White Sox- Hold my beer," another fan wrote.
"Cut what? you’ve never had a $100M contract ever. the team has the talent of a double A squad. Reinsdorf wants a new stadium and you pick NOW to shave payroll?! it’s already down to the bone!" another fan added.

White Sox win back-to-back games for the first time in almost three months

It's been a disastrous season for the ChiSox, but they are still trying to win whenever possible. The club defeated the Oakland Athletics in their last series by winning back-to-back games.

It's been almost three months since the team had last recorded back-to-back victories. In the last two games, they scored 11 runs and surrendered nine to the A's. Winning two of their last three against the A's broke their 20-game series losing streak.
