"Stance and swing look a lot like his pops" - Fans react after witnessing Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s 17-year-old son, Pablo, crush a ball in the minorsĀ
Two offseasons ago, the Texas Rangers decided to sign an international deal with Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s son, Pablo. The 17-year-old currently plays third base and some outfield but is looking to move to first base in the future.
While he has some work to do on the defensive side of things, he looks completely locked in at the plate. He tore the stitching off the ball in a recent game with the Rangers Minor League system.
The opposing pitcher hung an offspeed pitch, and Pablo got all of it. He hit a three-run double that presumably ended the ballgame.
Many fans are excited to see the young slugger make his way up through the system. The Rangers certainly have a player that has a huge ceiling and could be a centerpiece in a few years:
"Stance and swing look a lot like his pops," one fan posted.
"That looks like a Guerrero family swing! I love it," another said.
"There's another one," another fan said.
Fans could not help but notice how similar his swing was to his dad's. One thing this family knows how to do is get their barrels to baseballs:
"Holy crap. A third generation," said another fan.
"HOW MANY ARE THERE??" another fan said.
"Man had a baseball player factory going on over there?" said one fan.
Other fans couldn't believe another generation of Guerrero ballplayers coming up. It is impressive the amount of skill scattered across this family tree.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s other son is also playing professional baseball
While Pablo plays in the Texas Rangers system, Vladimir Guerrero Jr's other son, Vladimir Miguel, also plays professional ball. He signed a deal with the New York Mets in January.
Unlike his brother and father, Vlad Miguel hits from the left side. However, like his brother and father, he is considered a long-term first-base option for the club, and can also play some outfield.
Vladimir Miguel is the latest family member to sign a pro contract, and funny enough, did it one year after his brother, Pablo signed. The Mets are excited about his future impact.
It will be interesting to see if any of the sons can surpass their father. With the way Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s career has gone, the duo will certainly have their work cut out for them.
