“Survive three at-bats without striking out, can he do it?” – Trevor Bauer trolls Mexican League opponent during recent outing

Trevor Bauer may not have pitched in the MLB since 2021. However, thanks to his active presence on social media, he has remained in the spotlight. The former Cy Young Award winner has been plying his trade with the Diablos Rojos del México this season, documenting his journey along the way.

In his latest post, Bauer showed a compilation of at-bats from one of his opponents, teasing his followers to find out if he could avoid striking out during the matchup.

“Survive three at-bats without striking out, can he do it?” Bauer questioned at the beginning of his social media post.

In the video, Bauer highlighted three different at-bats for his opponent. During the first matchup, Bauer threw a pitch high and inside, forcing a pop fly to the outfield. Bauer wrote "PB and Jam" as a text on the video.

During the pair's second matchup, Bauer had his opponent in shambles. A nasty swing-and-miss with a cutter drew a laugh from Bauer, with the former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher saying to himself on the mound, "Right on it, dude."

In the final at-bat of the video, Trevor Bauer can be seen repeatedly attempting to get his fastball down and away. After a few misses in the zone, he final found the location he wanted, however, in a typical social media tease, Bauer never revealed whether or not the umpire called a strikeout. The former Reds ace looked to have recorded a strikeout.

Trevor Bauer's strong season in Mexico continues as his club eyes a championship

Although Bauer has remained incredibly active on social media, he has not let it affect his performances on the mound. Through 83.1 innings in the regular season, Bauer has posted an impressive 10-0 record with a 2.48 ERA and 120 strikeouts. Along with his strong performances, Bauer earned an All-Star selection, helping him make his case for why he deserves another MLB opportunity.

Now, Bauer's club will take on the Sultanes de Monterrey for the championship. If Bauer can add another accolade to his trophy case, it could only help his chances of returning to the majors one day. The championship round, known as the Serie del Rey, starts on Wednesday night.
