"Take that fastball b*tch" - Trevor Bauer calling out opponent during Mexican League playoffs leads to bench-clearing brawl
Throughout his baseball career in both the MLB and leagues across the globe, Trevor Bauer has never been one to shy away from letting his feelings be known. The former Cy Young Award winner has played with an edge throughout his professional career which has sometimes landed him in hot water but has also helped lead him to success.
After failing to land a new MLB contract, Bauer took his talent to the Mexican League to play with the Diablos Rojos del México. As a part of his attempted journey back to the MLB, Bauer remained active on social media.
Bauer also made lengthy video blogs that provided fans and followers a closer look at his personality and competitiveness while on the field. In his latest video, the former Cincinnati Reds ace provided a lengthy look into the semi-final of the Mexican League postseason, including a bench-clearing brawl in the final game of the series.
Throughout the video, Bauer broke down his heated battle against the Guerreros de Oaxaca in the Championship Series (semi-final). One of the main players that Bauer covered throughout the video was Jorge Flores, an infielder he continually referred to as "midget b*tch."
"Midget b*tch, who's name I don't even remember because he's that insignificant. Role, midget b*tch because he's really small and he's a b*tch [2:18]," Bauer said of Flores to open the video.
As the video moves along and the Championship Series reaches Game 7, tensions between Trevor Bauer and Jorge Flores were at an all-time high. In the top of the seventh and with Oaxaca leading, Flores recorded a base hit and could be seen yelling at Bauer as he made his way to first base.
"Take that fastball b*tch [52:30]," Bauer shouted to Flores, which led to both benches clearing.
Later in the sequence, after Flores was called out at third base, Bauer went over and the pair exchanged words. This led to both benches clearing. Ultimately, this was a turning point for Trevor Bauer's team as the change in the action sparked a comeback late in the game, eventually winning the series in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Trevor Bauer's club went on to win the Mexican League title
After the heated series with Guerreros de Oaxaca, Bauer and his team went on to sweep the Sultanes de Monterrey in the finals, taking home the title. Despite having to go to a Game 7 in the semis, Trevor Bauer and company were simply too strong to overcome in the finals.
The title was just a part of what turned out to be a successful season for the former Los Angeles Dodgers star in Mexico. Not only did Bauer win the title, but he earned an All-Star selection and proved that he has plenty of life left in his throwing arm. It remains to be seen if he will be able to secure an MLB contract this offseason, however, he at least proved that he can still pitch.
