Texas Rangers vs. Seattle Mariners Game Player Stats and Box Scores for September 12
The Texas Rangers are just a few games away from being eliminated from the playoff race. The defending World Series champions will soon need to hand over the Commissioner's Trophy to another team as their playoff slot keeps slipping away.
Adding to their misery is the absence of All-Star Corey Seager, who is out for the rest of the 2024 season. Seager will need to undergo sports hernia surgery, and the rest of the team must deal with the remaining games.
The Rangers had a tough battle with the Mariners in this series opener. Kumar Rocker became the first MLB pitcher of Indian descent to start in this game. However, Rocker's debut did not go as well as expected.
Despite striking first with a home run, the Rangers gave up their lead and were trailing the Mariners with a 4-1 final score. Bryce Miller had a decent start for the Mariners, but Texas fought hard to get back in the race.
The Mariners are only four games behind the Houston Astros for the AL West Division title. Seattle must win most of their remaining games to get on top, but their opponent did not give up easily today.

The Mariners continued to lead 4-1 while Cal Raleigh scored on a wild pitch. At the top of the seventh inning, Nathan Lowe smashed a home run against Troy Taylor to cut the lead in half.
