"Thank you God for this miracle" - Freddie Freeman & wife Chelsea celebrate son Max's return to home after week-long ICU battle
After a week-long battle in the pediatric ICU, Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman's son Maximus was discharged. Freeman's wife Chelsea shared a heartwarming update about their son Maximus, who came down with an infection at MLB All-Star weekend and was subsequently taken to the ER eight days ago.
On Sunday, Chelsea wrote about Maximus' release from the hospital. She mentioned that he still has a long recovery ahead of him and is grateful for the miracle.
"After 8 long days in the Pediatric ICU we are officially HOME! Max still has a long road ahead of him to regain his strength and relearn how to walk. But we are so thankful to have our family back together. Thank you God for this miracle," Chelsea wrote in her post.
"Also, thank you to our incredible team of doctors and angel nurses for taking such good care of our boy. And to our village for helping so much with Charlie and Brandon."
In a heartwarming display, Chelsea also shared a fun-filled reunion of Maximus with his two siblings, Charlie and Brandon. Both brothers upon meeting Maximus hugged him and shared their affection.
Chelsea also tagged hashtags for the condition Max suffered, referencing "Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological condition that is especially rare in children."
MLB community sends its love after discharge of Freddie Freeman's son
Amid these tough times, the MLB community and the Dodgers organization gave their support to Freddie Freeman and his family as they sent their wishes and prayers for the well-being of Maximus amid his health scare. Chelsea even read out all the warm wishes to her son.
Those prayers seem to have worked, as Maximus now looks forward to attaining full recovery. Many from the Dodgers organization and MLB community expressed their reactions to the news of his discharge.
