"The aura is off the charts" "Build the statue" - Reds fans ecstatic after red-hot rookie Rece Hinds blasts two home runs in win over Marlins
Cincinnati Reds rookie Rece Hinds looks more like an established star than he does somebody who has six games under their belt. The young slugger has certainly made a name for himself during the few games he has been called up.
Heading into Saturday's matchup with the Miami Marlins, he had three home runs to his credit but would go nuclear. He would hit two home runs in Cincinnati's 10-6 win over Miami.
through six games, Hinds' slashline sits at .524/.565/1.476, and no, the slugging percentage is not a typo. He has come into the big leagues with absolutely zero problems.
Reds fans could not be more excited about the player they have here. He is quickly becoming a fan favorite in Cincinnati in such a short amount of time.
"The aura is off the charts" - one fan said.
"Build the statue" - said another.
"I've seen enough, put him in the Hall of Fame" - said another.
Hinds could be exactly what the team needed to get them back to being a contender in the NL Central. While under .500, they are just seven games behind the Milwaukee Brewers who lead the division.
"Send him to the All Star game now!" - said another.
"I don't even know what to say. This is incredible!" - said another.
"This is honestly crazy" - said another.
It will be interesting to see how long Hinds can keep up this momentum. He has completely taken the baseball world by storm over the last week.
Taking a closer look at Reds rookie Rece Hinds

Rece Hinds made a name for himself after attending high school powerhouse, IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. There, he showcased the power that we have all witnessed, exciting scouts about his potential.
Cincinnati decided to draft him in the second round of the 2019 MLB Draft. However, he would have a slow start to his professional career as a torn meniscus and broken left hamate bone cost him much-needed reps.
Hinds would get healthy, and while starting the 2023 season off slow, he would soon get hot. He performed well enough to earn a spot on the team's 40-man roster.
There is still lots of work to be done, but Hinds could have a very successful career in the big leagues. Cincinnati has an exciting one with this slugger.
