"The White Sox can’t have anything bro" - Fans react to Rangers OF Travis Jankowski's spectacular catch to rob Chicago of walk-off home run

The Chicago White Sox are the team with the worst record in baseball this season and it seems like even the baseball gods are against them as Chicago lost the series against the Rangers on Wednesday.

White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn came within inches to steal the game against the Texas Rangers in the ninth inning only for Rangers outfielder Travis Jankowski to rob his walk-off home run with a spectacular catch.

Jankowski scaled the left-field fence at Guaranteed Rate Field and lept to snag Vaughn's potential three-run home run for the second out of the inning. The Rangers held onto the 4-3 lead to claim a narrow win after Jankowski's effort.

Baseball fans couldn't help themselves and feel for the White Sox who are on a record-breaking low this season.

"Thats just cruel," wrote another fan.
"The White Sox literally can’t have anything. Like this is just straight up franchise abuse lmao," chimed in a fan.

Several fans also praised Travis Jankowski for his potential 'catch of the year.'

"Catch of the year, hands down," wrote a fan.
"CATCH OF THE YEAR," wrote another fan.

Travis Jankowski reflects on robbing walk-off home run

Travis Jankowski came in clutch for the Texas Rangers in the ninth inning to secure a series win for the AL West team chasing a postseason berth in the World Series defense.

Reflecting on his acrobatic catch to keep his team in the game, Jankowski said:

“The hang time was perfect,” Jankowski said. “If it was a foot farther, [it’s] probably out of my reach. … It's the perfect alignment. We were playing deep. I was [shaded] pull side, so a little bit deeper than I probably should have been. Just everything lined up perfect. Timed the jump pretty good, and thank God it stayed in my mitt.”

Meanwhile, Rangers reliever Andrew Chafin was thankful for his teammates' spectacular catch for a first home run robbery off his pitching.

“That's the first time a guy has ever robbed a home run for me,” Chafin said. “I told him I owed him a few steak dinners for that one.”

The Rangers will be aiming to sweep the White Sox when they meet for the final game of the series on Thursday.
