"There's a zero percent chance I could do that" - Mookie Betts laughs off idea of copying Derrick Henry's diet during podcast with Fernando Tatis Jr.

Mookie Betts is one of the most naturally gifted players in the MLB right now. The versatile star of the Los Angeles Dodgers has made a living by playing multiple defensive positions on defense while also contributing as a five-tool player at the plate.

Not only have Mookie Betts enjoyed a potential Hall of Fame career in the majors, but he has also impressed with his ability to tackle nearly everything off the field. In Bleacher Report's "B/R Walk-Off" podcast on Thursday, Mookie and Fernando Tatis Jr. talked about the diet of Baltimore Ravens superstar running back Derrick Henry, which has gone viral on social media.

Henry reportedly does not eat fried food, dairy, gluten, or artificial sugars. Henry also says that he does not eat until 4 pm during the NFL season. Betts gave a brutally honest opinion on whether or not he would be able to do the same thing.

"There's a zero percent chance I could do that," Mookie said of Henry's dietary routine.

It's easy to side with Betts on this one, as Henry's strict diet might be impossible for some of us. That being said, there is no denying the results that the Baltimore Ravens star has been able to achieve. Not only is he one of the most physically intimidating players in the NFL, but he has been able to defy Father Time as the shelf life for running backs is short yet Henry is still dominant at 30 years old.

"You're playing 162. We got a day game, we just played at 11 O'Clock and you've got a day game the next day, you need some sugar. You need something to keep you going," Betts continued.

While Mookie Betts and Fernando Tatis Jr. have different body builds and play a different sport, Derrick Henry's viral diet appears to be something that superstar will be trying any time soon.

Mookie Betts' diet has been a hot topic throughout his career

Although Mookie said that he would be unable to complete Derrick Herny's diet on a daily basis, he is no stranger to questions about his own diet. Betts admitted to switching to a vegan diet, but after a disappointing 2021 season, some fans blamed the swap. Mookie later stated that his vegan lifestyle was not an excuse for his poor performance.

Betts made another change to his diet and training, gaining weight before the 2023 season to help him boost his power numbers and get stronger. At the time, Mookie Betts reportedly gained eight pounds to achieve this goal. While he might not be as strict as Derrick Henry, he also does what he can to maximize his talent.
