"This confirms he is a Yankee for life"- Fans speculate Juan Soto hinting at possible Yankees extension with his new walk-up song

New York Yankees slugger Juan Soto's future following his ongoing stint with the Bronx Bombers has been a hot topic since he arrived in the offseason. Fans speculated about the All-Star hitter's next team during his at-bats against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday.

A host of Yankees fans at the Yankee Stadium churned the rumor mill after hearing Juan Soto's new walk-up song. Soto changed his walk-up song to Cardi B, Bad Bunny & J Balvin's 'I Like it.'

The song's verse, "Where's my pen, b***h I'm signing," could be heard around the Yankee Stadium, exciting fans who interpreted it as Soto hinting at extending his stay with the Bronx Bombers.

"I’m so delusional so this is making me so HAPPY," chimed another fan.
"Juan Soto please resign because I bought your jersey and I want to keep wearing it," pleaded a Yankees fan.

Several fans from other teams dismissed the notion of Soto re-signing with the Yankees.

Soto was traded to the Yankees from the San Diego Padres last offseason, and the former World Series winner is expected to hit free agency at the end of the season. The Yankees' city rivals, the New York Mets, have been one of the teams heavily linked with the four-time All-Star.

Juan Soto stated admiration for Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani before All-Star game

Juan Soto's statement before the 2024 All-Star game ignited rumors as the Dominican star suggested potential teaming up with LA Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani. He named the Japanese slugger when asked about the player he would like to pair with.

"[Shohei] Ohtani would be one of the best," Soto said. "Now, he went to the NL, I went to the AL. So, it’s been a little tricky, but definitely Ohtani would be one of them."

Soto had a remarkable series opener against the Rays on Friday. He drove in three runs for the Yankees in a four-hit game which saw him complete a little league home run.

Although Soto registered a hit for a third consecutive game on Saturday, the Yanks suffered a frustrating 9-1 loss as the Rays tied the three-game series with the rubber game on Sunday.
