Today’s Best MLB Home Run Prop Bets: Top 5 picks including Fernando Tatis Jr., Marcell Ozuna, and more for October 1st, 2024
The MLB wild card playoffs are here, which means there are four games today with extremely high stakes. Therefore, every home run hit could be a back-breaker for the other team. Predicting who will hit them is challenging since the field is limited and the pitchers are that good. Still, we've got today's best bets from DraftKings to look out for. Yesterday, one of our three picks hit.
Best MLB home run prop bets for October 1
#5) Anthony Santander: +550
Among MLB players playing during the wild card round, Anthony Santander has the most home runs. The Baltimore Orioles star hit 44 during the regular season, much more than anyone else who's playing today. Still, he has a tough matchup with Cole Ragans and the Kansas City Royals today.
#4) Yordan Alvarez: +450
Yordan Alvarez is a proven playoff performer who also hits a lot of home runs. Despite battling some injuries, he recorded 35 during the regular season. His health is a question mark, but he's one of the best hitters going today. Unfortunately, he is up against lefty Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers, who is arguably the best pitcher in the sport.
#3) Mark Vientos: +380
Mark Vientos had a terrific regular season, bursting onto the scene with 27 home runs in 111 games played. The New York Mets star is up against Freddy Peralta and the Milwaukee Brewers today, but he does have one of the softer matchups for the wild card round. He could hit a home run today.
#2) Fernando Tatis Jr.: +360
Fernando Tatis hit 21 home runs in 102 games this year for the San Diego Padres. The Atlanta Braves haven't set their opposing pitcher yet, but it is almost assuredly going to be Chris Sale since they did not use him in yesterday's doubleheader. That's not a good matchup, but most batters today don't have good matchups.
#1) Marcell Ozuna: +350
Marcell Ozuna hit 39 home runs during the regular season. He is the one Braves hitter who was consistent all year long. He is up against San Diego Padres ace Michael King, who had a brilliant regular season. Nevertheless, Ozuna is the best bet today.
