Top MLB DFS Picks for August 6th: DraftKings ft. Francisco Lindor, Colton Cowser & more
While plenty of teams had days off on Monday, the MLB slate is full of action on Tuesday. That is great news for Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) players because it means the full lineup of MLB stars is available. There are also a few top-notch pitchers tabbed to start. Here's who you should keep an eye on for your lineup.
Top pitchers for MLB DFS August 6
Luis Castillo ($8200 on DraftKings)
Luis Castillo has earned a very solid 3.43 ERA, 130 strikeouts, and a 1.16 WHIP. He does have more losses than wins, but that's not his fault with a stat line like the one above. He's a great selection today vs. the Detroit Tigers.
Sonny Gray ($9600 on DraftKings)
Sonny Gray has pitched well for the St. Louis Cardinals. He has a 10-6 record, 3.72 ERA, 147 strikeouts, and a 1.09 WHIP. He gets the struggling Tampa Bay Rays today, making him a good DFS pick.
Pablo Lopez ($8000 on DraftKings)
Minnesota Twins ace Pablo Lopez has been a very good player this year: 10 wins, 142 strikeouts, and a 1.14 WHIP. Today, he gets to face the Chicago Cubs who haven't been playing that well of late.
Top hitters for MLB DFS August 6
Francisco Lindor ($5900 on DraftKings)
For the last month or so, Francisco Lindor has been one of baseball's best hitters. His season tallies are impressive: .253 average, 22 home runs, 63 RBIs, .789 OPS. The New York Mets star should keep it going on August 6.
Jose Altuve ($5100 on DraftKings)
Jose Altuve has been a consistent force for the Houston Astros all year long. He has a top-10 batting average (.301), 14 home runs, and a .794 OPS. Today vs. the struggling Texas Rangers, he should have a good game.
Juan Soto ($6300 on DraftKings)
Juan Soto has been excellent all year long. The star outfielder has a .310 batting average (fifth in baseball), 28 home runs (seventh), and a 1.035 OPS (second in MLB behind Aaron Judge). Pick him up.
Budget picks for MLB DFS August 6
Mark Vientos ($4500 on DraftKings)
Mark Vientos has hit two home runs in a week. The New York Mets star is also batting .280 for the year with a stellar .883 OPS. It's a surprise that he's even discounted to this price, one you can take full advantage of.
Austin Wells ($2700 on DraftKings)
Austin Wells has steadily improved of late. The catcher has the advantage of hitting behind Juan Soto (who walks a lot) and Aaron Judge (who teams are beginning to intentionally walk). The RBI opportunities are there and he has been cashing in with a 5/12 start to August.
Colton Cowser ($4300 on DraftKings)
Colton Cowser has a strong shot at winning the AL Rookie of the Year award. He's .253 with an OPS nearing .800. The Baltimore Orioles star is still a little cheaper on DraftKings, so you should take advantage.
