Top MLB DFS Picks Today: DraftKings and FanDuel ft. Fernando Tatis Jr., Kyle Schwarber and more | Sept. 5
Even when so many teams and so many MLB superstars are not scheduled to play, Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) rolls on. Players can still field a lineup today (Sept. 5), although it gets a little harder to find great options. Nevertheless, we've got the players you should keep an eye on today for a classic five-game slate.
Top Pitchers for MLB DFS Sept. 5
Ranger Suarez ($9,700 on DraftKings, $10,500 on FanDuel)
Ranger Suarez is on the mound today against the dismal Miami Marlins. He's been great this year for the Philadelphia Phillies: 11-6 record, 3.02 ERA, 128 strikeouts and a 1.08 WHIP. Pick him up.
Cody Bradford ($7,900 on DraftKings, $9,700 on FanDuel)
Cody Bradford has a smaller body of work, but he's been excellent for the Texas Rangers. He is 4-2 with a 3.21 ERA, 52 strikeouts in 56 innings and a sterling 0.89 WHIP.
Reynaldo Lopez ($9,900 on DraftKings, $10,900 on FanDuel)
Reynaldo Lopez has been brilliant this season for the Atlanta Braves. He is coming off an injury, but he's 8-4 with a 2.00 ERA, 125 strikeouts and a 1.17 WHIP. Today, he gets the lowly Colorado Rockies.
Top Hitters for MLB DFS Sept. 5
Kyle Schwarber ($5,700 on DraftKings, $3,700 on FanDuel)
Kyle Schwarber set the Phillies' franchise record for first-inning home runs yesterday, so he's in good form. Overall, he's hitting .248 with 32 home runs, 89 RBI and an .853 OPS.
Marcell Ozuna ($5,800 on DraftKings, $3,700 on FanDuel)
Marcell Ozuna is having a career year. The Braves' designated hitter is hitting .305 with 37 home runs, 98 RBI, and a .949 OPS. He's an excellent pick pretty much any day of the week.
Fernando Tatis Jr. ($5,300 on DraftKings, $3,500 on FanDuel)
Fernando Tatis Jr. has returned from injury. The San Diego Padres star is back to being one of baseball's best hitters. He had two hits yesterday and is hitting .277 with 14 home runs for the season.
Budget picks for MLB DFS Sept. 5
Michael Harris II ($4,000 on DraftKings, $2,900 on FanDuel)
Michael Harris II is a great budget pick for DFS. The Braves outfielder has the supremely advantageous matchup with Austin Gomber of the Rockies, so pick him up.
Taylor Ward ($4,200 on DraftKings, $3,000 on FanDuel)
Taylor Ward has 21 home runs this season for the Los Angeles Angels. That production, while not among the league leaders, is exceptional for this price range. Pick him up and reap the benefits today.
Brandon Marsh ($3,400 on DraftKings, $2,900 on FanDuel)
Brandon Marsh is coming off a three-hit day, so the Phillies outfielder is hot right now. At this price range, it's hard to envision a better option. In September, Marsh has four hits in nine at-bats.
