Top MLB DFS Picks Today: DraftKings and FanDuel ft. Shohei Ohtani, Carlos Rodon & more | September 9
Even though some teams are off to travel today, MLB Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) players still have a few good options to pick through to set their lineup. There are some superstar hitters tabbed to play and more than a couple of good pitching matchups to keep an eye on. To that end, here are a few players to try today.
Top Pitchers for MLB DFS September 9
Carlos Rodon ($8800 on DraftKings, $9700 on FanDuel)
Carlos Rodon has been inconsistent this year, but when he's on, he's been excellent. Last time out, he was on: six innings, one hit, one run, two walks, and 11 strikeouts. Look for him to keep it rolling today.
Brayan Bello ($8000 on DraftKings, $8300 on FanDuel)
Brayan Bello has been decent for the Boston Red Sox, recording 12 wins and 135 strikeouts. Today, he's up against the Baltimore Orioles, who just scored three total runs in three games vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.
Brady Singer ($8300 on DraftKings, $8400 on FanDuel)
Brady Singer has been good for the Kansas City Royals: nine wins, 3.35 ERA, 150 strikeouts, and a 1.24 WHIP. Ordinarily, a matchup like this wouldn't be ideal, but the Yankees haven't scored more than six runs but twice in the last 15 games, so they're struggling a bit.
Top Hitters for MLB DFS September 9
Shohei Ohtani ($7000 on DraftKings, $5000 on FanDuel)
There's almost never a reason Shohei Ohtani should be out of DFS lineups. The Los Angeles Dodgers star is hitting .291 with 46 home runs, 101 RBI, a .992 OPS, and 46 stolen bases.
Mookie Betts ($6300 on DraftKings, $4200 on FanDuel)
Kyle Hendricks is on the mound for the Cubs, which means Mookie Betts is in line for a good day. He is 10/24 in September with six extra-base hits, so he's in good form and should continue today.
Francisco Lindor ($5600 on DraftKings, $3800 on FanDuel)
Francisco Lindor is doing his best to win MVP this season, and his offensive line has been a huge help: .270 average, 30 home runs, 84 RBI, and a .832 OPS. Pick him up today.
Budget picks for MLB DFS September 9
Mickey Moniak ($4000 on DraftKings, $2700 on FanDuel)
Mickey Moniak has not been good for the Los Angeles Angeles, but the thing that makes Moniak a good pick is that he's facing David Festa today. The Minnesota Twins are good, but Festa has struggled at times this year and it doesn't look like changing here.
Taylor Ward ($4300 on DraftKings, $3100 on FanDuel)
The same logic applies to Taylor Ward, who's been solid this year: .244 average, 22 home runs, 65 RBI, and a .747 OPS. Festa has just been so inconsistent that both Angels players are worth taking a flyer on today.
Dansby Swanson ($3900 on DraftKings, $2900 on FanDuel)
Dansby Swanson hasn't had a great offensive season, but the Chicago Cubs star does have seven hits in September (22 at-bats). He has a good matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers since Walker Buehler has been disappointing this year.
