Toronto Blue Jays fans ecstatic as team claims second straight win behind Alek Manoah’s dominant pitching: "We back baby" "150+ win season still on"
Just a few days after being down in the dumps, Toronto Blue Jays fans are happy again as the team blanked the Kansas City Royals 3-0 Wednesday night.
Blue Jays staff ace Alek Manoah was splendid in a bounce-back start after being thumped on Opening Day, earning the win with seven innings of one-hit, no-run ball. He scattered four walks while striking out five batters.
First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. also had Toronto fans cheering as he connected for his first home run of the year on a 3-for-4 night with two runs scored and one RBI.
Third baseman Matt Chapman drove in Toronto's other two runs on a 1-for-4 night, while outfielder Daulton Varsho was 3-for-4 with one run scored.
Closer Jordan Romano earned the save.

It was the Toronto Blue Jays' second consecutive win as the team took a three-game series from the host Royals to level their season record at 3-3. Manoah's performance was the second-consecutive solid effort from a Toronto starter, coming on the heels of the Blue Jays' starters logging a 10.80 ERA through their first four games.

Manoah lowered his ERA from 13.50 to 4.35 with seven dominant innings against Kansas City. He appeared much more reminiscent of the pitcher that went 16-7 with a 2.24 ERA last season than his Opening Day appearance against the St. Louis Cardinals when he was chased in the fourth inning after allowing nine hits and five earned runs.

The magic of the pitch clock was on full display once again Wednesday as Manoah and the Blue Jays were able to dispatch the Royals in a brisk two hours and 17 minutes.

The Toronto Blue Jays return home to the Rogers Centre on Tuesday, April 11, when the team takes on the Detroit Tigers. It will be the first home game for the Blue Jays since the team lost to the Seattle Mariners in the American League Wild Card Series last October.
