Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s philanthropic endeavor melts heart as Blue Jays superstar delivers food to the needy in Dominican Republic
Blue Jays starting first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is enjoying time in the Dominican Republic this offseason. Despite being born in Montreal, Canada, Vladimir's heritage links him to the Caribbean island nation, since his father moved from their ancestral homeland to Canada to play with the Montreal Expos in the MLB.
While on his current trip to the Dominican Republic, Guerrero Jr. took time to meet with the locals and bring Christmas cheer to their households. The Blue Jays superstar delivered cartons of food to the needy in the community.
MLB Dominicana shared a heartfelt post displaying Vladimir distributing the food items and mingling with the folks of the community. The caption on the social media post reads:
"Christmas becomes more special when we help those in need... Vlady Jr. had this in mind and took charge of delivering food to his people in the Dominican Republic. 🎁❤️🤝"
Even today, Vladimir gives most of his interviews in Spanish with the help of an interpreter. The Blue Jays signed him as an international free agent in 2015 when he was just 16 years old. After spending more than three years in the minor leagues, he received his big league promotion in April 2019.
Guerrero Jr. has been making a mark for himself ever since his MLB debut. He has quickly become the face of the organization in Toronto. Last year was yet another successful season for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as he finished with an offensive stat line of .323 batting average, 30 home runs, 103 RBIs, and .940 OPS.
Currently, the big man is enjoying time with his wife Nathalie and their two daughters, Vlaishel and Vlaimel Guerrero, this offseason.
