"Was this a strike?" - Trevor Bauer asks followers to guess the outcome of his pitch during Mexican League start

Despite a rocky few years in his professional baseball career, Trevor Bauer continues to let his competitive edge shine. An instance of this was during one of his outings in the Mexican League. The former Los Angeles Dodgers star has not pitched in the majors since 2021 and one of his strategies to remain in the public eye has been to stay consistent on social media.

In a July 24 X/Twitter post, Bauer showcased an impressive pitching sequence against one of his Mexican League opponents. In the video, Bauer can be seen discussing a pitch strategy with himself, debating whether to throw a cutter or a splitter to record an out. He decides on a cutter and throws a pitch that appears to land inside the strike zone. Trevor Bauer does not reveal the outcome and instead asks his followers:

It's unclear if Trevor Bauer will land another MLB deal despite dominating performances in Mexican League

A star for the Diablos Rojos del México this year, Bauer has been dominant on the mound, earning a Mexican League All-Star selection. With a 10-0 record with a 1.78 ERA, there is no denying that the former Dodgers superstar still has plenty of life left in his pitching arm. All that being said, it remains to be seen if an MLB club will be willing to give him another opportunity in the majors.

Bauer has not pitched in the MLB since 2021 because of accusations of sexual assault, which ultimately led to a lengthy suspension. Despite being cleared of any criminal wrongdoing, teams may consider signing Bauer as a negative public relations issue, which could hurt his future chances of returning to the majors.
