WATCH: Aaron Judge's game-winning grand slam reimagined in Brad Pitt's iconic 'Moneyball'-style goes viral

Aaron Judge finally broke out of his slump with a home run, that too a go-ahead grand slam, to earn the victory over the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Headed into the game, The Yankees captain had gone homer-less in his previous 16 games, making the longest drought of his career.

Quite justifiably, the momentous occasion caused for celebration. A particular edit of the home run caught a lot of steam on X (formerly Twitter). In the video posted on the Talkin' Yanks page, Aaron Judge's home run was edited as if it were a scene from the critically acclaimed movie Moneyball, starring Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill and Chris Pratt.

Moneyball focuses on the Oakland Athletics' 2002 season when they adopted a sabermetric approach to scouting players, relying on deep analytical insight. Pitt portrays A's then general manager Billy Beane, while Hill's character was based on baseball scouting executive Paul DePodesta.


Aaron Judge downplays his home run drought

In the post-game interview, while talking to the media personnel Aaron Judge was asked about how it felt to break out of his biggest drought to date. The Yankees slugger responded by stating that he couldn't figure out whether it had been that long since his last home run while adding that his objective isn't just to go yard but to do well for the team.

"Was it 16 games? I didn't really know that," Judge said (per The Washington Post). "It's just another day. I really don't focus on hitting homers. I don't focus on any of that. I've got a job to do. Sixteen games, is that a lot or was it not? I don't know."

Aaron Judge has been hitting at 10-for-44 this month with 7 RBIs at an average of .227. The Yankees need him to regain the same form that saw him win three AL Player of the Month awards since May.
