WATCH: Alex Rodriguez looks back on 'embarrassing' topless photoshoot with Yankees teammates ft. Derek Jeter, Edgar Renteria & more
Former Yankees infielder Alex Rodriguez had some amazing days in his big league career after he was traded to the Bronx Bombers from the Texas Rangers on February 15, 2004. He got the nod as an All-Star seven times with the NYY and even won his maiden World Series title with the ballclub in 2009.
During his 12 seasons in the Bronx, he linked up with some of the greats of the game, including good friend and current FOX Sports commentating partner Derek Jeter. Besides Jeter, he spent a lot of time beside some of the best players in that era, which included Mariano Rivera, Edgar Renteria, Robinson Cano, Hideki Matsui, and many more.
On Tuesday, A-Rod shared a reel showcasing a funny reaction as he reminisced over a photoshoot from his Yankee days. In the photoshoot, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and Edgar Renteria, along with two more Yankees teammates, could be seen bare chested with their uniform pants on as they all sported a Cuban link chain. A-Rod captioned the reel as:
"Not the best idea #embarrassingmoments."
While the caption inside the video reel read:
"I remember when the photographer told us we would look cool in this photo"
The Seattle Mariners had selected Alex Rodriguez as the No. 1 overall pick in the 1993 MLB draft and signed him to a three-year contract, which was later extended by four more years. Later, A-Rod opted out for free agency and ended up signing the biggest contract in MLB history with the Texas Rangers, which stood at $252 million over ten years.
His offseason move to the Yankees paved a new era for the Bronx Bombers, as the baseball world witnessed two of the biggest stars going toe-to-toe while being on the same roster. Both Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter became legends for the organization and the MLB as a whole.
The duo are partners with FOX Sports broadcasting alongside Red Sox legend David Ortiz, as they were all recently spotted at Rickwood Field actively participating in a softball game to pay tribute to the Negro League and Giants legend Willie Mays.
