WATCH: Alex Rodriguez and young fan nail unique fist bump celebration after several failed attempts
Alex Rodriguez is one of the most recognizable baseball players the game has seen. He had a 22-year career, mostly with the New York Yankees where he was one of the best.
He has kept himself plenty busy after retiring in 2016, becoming a minority owner in the NBA for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2023. He also works as a studio analyst for Fox Sports' MLB coverage.
So, what do you do if you are a young fan and meet the 14-time All-Star? The two of you come up with an awesome handshake for the world to see.
Watch the clip below:
"We got it at the end..." said A-Rod.
It took the duo a few tries to get it right, but they eventually did. This is a moment that this youngster will likely never forget. Not many get to meet the legendary slugger, let alone learn a handshake that is then posted on his personal Instagram account.
Alex Rodriguez ranks time with family above all else
We are in the thick of the holiday season, and former Yankees' great, Alex Rodriguez could not be any happier. The slugger loves spending time with his family. It is something that he holds close to his heart, especially with his two daughters, Natasha and Ella getting older.
"My checkered flag, which is priceless for me is anything to do with family. Thanksgiving [and] Christmas [are] my time of the year" said A-Rod.
Natasha is Rodriguez's eldest daughter, and she is currently studying musical theatre at the University of Michigan. His other daughter, Ella, is 16 and is currently figuring out her college options. With one daughter out of the house and the other soon on her way, Rodriguez cherishes the times they can all get together.
