Australia began the game in cruise control, gaining a 5-0 lead over WBC debutant China. However, China began to mount a rally by scoring a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning to cut the score to 5-2.

However, Glendinning quickly regained the five-run difference for Australia with a towering blast off of China relief pitcher Weiyi Wang in the bottom of the fourth.

The two-run shot was Glendinning's second for the WBC. He also hit a three-run homer in Australia's shock 8-7 victory over Korea in the opening round of the tournament.

The Australians were so spurred on by Robbie Glendinning's round-tripper that the team went on to score five runs -- all with two out -- to put the game out of reach.
