On Tuesday, rapper Machine Gun Kelly took the mound at Progressive Field to throw a unique ceremonial first pitch ahead of the game between the Cleveland Guardians and the Chicago Cubs.

Most celebs often take home the embarrassment of not being able to pitch straight into the catcher's mitt when they come to the mound. Instead, MGK took another approach. The "Bad Things" rapper rushed straight in front of the Guardians dugout and threw it to fans sitting over them.

As soon as the video of his first pitch was uploaded online, netizens started to chip in with all kinds of reactions. While some threw shade at him, others found it funny. More so, some fans used this as an opportunity to criticize Angel Hernandez and other hitters.

"Angel Hernandez would have called it a strike," one fan commented.

"That was actually horrible and not funny!" another added.

Machine Gun Kelly began his musical career in Cleveland, Ohio. The 34-year-old rapper is currently in Cleveland for his annual "MGK Day," only this time it is a five-day event that started on August 9.

The celebration continued on Tuesday at Progressive Field with the first 10,000 fans receiving a custom 27 Club Coffee bag. He opened the coffee house in 2020.

As for the game, the Guardians won with a 2-1 score as they continue to hold the best record in the majors (71-49). Matthew Boyd threw 5.1 innings in which he allowed only three hits and one run. Jhonkensy Noel homered in the win.

The last set of the three-game series continues on Wednesday before the home team heads to Milwaukee.
