Watch: Francisco Alvarez and Andy Pages get heated at the plate as tensions rise in intense Dodgers vs Mets showdown
Francisco Alvarez and the New York Mets matched up against Andy Pages and the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the NLDS. With LA up 3-1 in the series, all the pressure was on NY.
Pete Alonso got the party started after hitting a three-run bomb in the first inning. By the third inning, the Mets were up 8-1, but the Dodgers started to answer back.
Pages hit a solo shot in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 8-2. However, when he crossed home plate, he and Alvarez exchanged a few words before Pages walked back to the dugout.
Watch the clip below:
Pages shrugged what Alvarez had to say off and trotted back to the dugout. Nothing more came of this situation as both players knew what was on the line in this pivotal Game 5 matchup.

The Dodgers rookie hitter was seeing the ball well on Friday. After hitting his solo shot in the fourth inning, he added to that with another home run, this time being a three-run shot.
He cut the Mets' lead in half and had to cross Francisco Alvarez who was standing at home plate again. However, nothing was said between the two, unlike the previous home run.
An inning later, Mookie Betts hit a home run to inch even closer, but the Amazins could not stop scoring runs on Friday. They made it their mission to play at least one more game this season.
NY took down LA by a score of 12-6 to bring the series to a Game 6. Game 6 is scheduled to take place on Sunday at 8:08 pm ET. Game 7, if necessary, will happen on Monday at the same time.
