Watch: Jesse Winker gets booed by Brewers fans during final Wild Card showdown

The crowd at American Family Field booed Mets designated hitter and outfielder Jesse Winker because of what transpired between him and Brewers shortstop Willy Adames in the second inning of Game 1.

When Winker stepped in the batter box in the second inning of Game 3 of the NL Wild Card Series against the Brewers, Milwaukee fans made sure to welcome him with loud boos.

It all started in Game 1 of the wildcard series when a triple in the second inning by Jesse Winker had some chirping going on with Willy Adames. This comes after Milwaukee starter Frankie Montas hit Winker with a fastball on Friday.

Interestingly, Winker started the season with the Brewers but after not doing well in the first 61 games, he was sent to Queens in a trade. He got into a verbal altercation with Adames, which ended with the latter allegedly asking him to meet in the parking lot after the game.

Willy Adames confirms challenging Jesse Winker to meet him in parking lot

After Jomboy Media gave the lip-reading situation on what transpired between Jesse Winker and Willy Adames, with the latter challenging him to meet at the parking lot, the Brewers shortstop confirmed the same while adding Winker was a no-show.

“I told him that when we were chirping at each other,” Adames told The Post. “I was there [in the lot]."

According to The Post, Jesse Winker wasn't happy after being drilled on the backside by Frankie Montas last Friday. So after hitting the triple in Game 1, he got into a heated argument with Willy Adames.

“He just started yelling to me straight up. In the heat of the moment, I’m not going to back down. So we were just chirping. I don’t know what he was mad about,” Adames told The Post.

The rivalry ended with the Mets taking Game 3 and the wild card series against the Brewers on Thursday to advance to the next round.
