Watch: Kid at Yankees stadium yells 'ump you suck' after Laz Diaz's strike call
New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone wasn’t the only one who disapproved of umpire Laz Diaz’s strike call in the eighth inning of the game against the Chicago White Sox. A little kid in the stadium was just as disappointed at the umpire and voiced his frustration by yelling “ump you suck.”
With Anthony Volpe at the plate with zero outs and the Yankees trailing 1-2, the umpire issued a third strike call even though the ball seemed to miss the strike zone.
This angered Boone, who was ejected from the game after engaging in a verbal exchange with Diaz. Boone made numerous attempts to argue his case, even resorting to theatrical gestures, but these antics ultimately led to his removal.
A kid at Yankees stadium had Boone's back as he yelled out at the home plate umpire.
The New York Yankees fail to secure victory against the Chicago White Sox
The New York Yankees failed to get any offense going and fell 5-1 to the Chicago White Sox.
After Boone got ejected, the Yankees failed to score a single run. The Chicago White Sox took a three-run lead and turned the match in their favour.
Given the Yankees' lacklustre performances, there’s a high chance that the team will fail to make it to the MLB postseason.
