WATCH: Kike Hernandez turns fast-food worker to celebrate with fans following Dodgers' historic World Series win
There is no denying that Kike Hernandez is a man of the people. While some professional athletes let their fame and status get to their heads, this is not the case for Hernandez. The two-time World Series champion has become a beloved player among Los Angeles Dodgers fans thanks to his mix of clutch performances and infectious personality.
The veteran utilityman may not be a superstar in terms of accolades, but Kike Hernandez has cemented himself as part of Los Angeles Dodgers history for his playoff impact.
Hernandez has endeared himself to Dodgers fans yet again by taking up a second gig now that the season is over. The World Series champion took his talent to a California Raising Cane's to celebrate the title.
In a video making the rounds on social media, Hernandez can be seen working the drive-thru window at a Raising Cane's in Alhambra, California. Hundreds of Dodgers fans flocked to the fast-food restaurant for the opportunity to not only see the World Series hero but to also be served by him.
It turns out that he was not the only Dodgers star who has done a shift at this specific Raising Cane's, as Mookie Betts also made an appearance earlier this year. The three-time World Series champion helped raise $100,000 for his charity with his appearance.
Kike Hernandez has expressed his interest in remaining with the Los Angeles Dodgers
While Kike Hernandez may not have had an incredible regular season from a stats perspective, he played a pivotal role in securing the eighth World Series title in franchise history. Hernandez was not only important during the series win over the New York Yankees but the entire postseason.
Now, the 33-year-old is an unrestricted free agent but has expressed his interest in returning to the Dodgers for 2025. The veteran even shared this during the Raising Cane's event, telling the fans in attendance that he hopes to return next season. Given his defensive versatility and standing with fans and teammates, it would be unsurprising to see him back with the team in 2025.
