WATCH: Milwaukee Brewers slugger Joey Ortiz sends his first MLB home run out in a hurry

Joey Ortiz is in his first season with the Milwaukee Brewers. He and DL Hall came to Milwaukee in part of the Corbin Burnes trade and Otriz has seen a starting role at third base.

Heading into Friday's matchup with the New York Yankees, Ortiz found himself batting eighth in the lineup. He was still searching for his first MLB home run, which would come in his first at-bat.

Down 0-2, Ortiz hit a rocket to right field for a two-run home run to tie the game up. The blast was an absolute no-doubter as it went 406 feet and nearly got stuck in the upper deck.

Watch the clip below:

The ball left Ortiz's bat in a hurry, and he could not be happier rounding the bases. His teammates were also excited, dapping him up following the monster shot.

Ortiz is not generally known for his power, so seeing an early home run is great. Is this a sign of things to come from the young slugger as he continues to work on his game?

Joey Ortiz made a name for himself at New Mexico State University, putting up strong offensive numbers. However, what makes him stand out even more is his defensive abilities. His glove was why the Orioles decided to select him in the fourth round of the 2019 MLB Draft.

Scouts have reported that Ortiz has advanced hands, instincts, and above-average arm. He is considered a shortstop but has played a majority of the games at third base this season for the Brewers.

Milwaukee is in great hands If Ortiz can grow into an above-average hitter. This is somebody the fanbase will want to keep an eye on this season.
