WATCH: Oilers' Darnell Nurse makes son Aidan's first MLB game memorable meeting Vladimir Guerrero Jr, George Springer, and other Blue Jays stars
Defenseman and alternate captain for the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL, Darnell Nurse, visited Rogers Center to watch the Toronto Blue Jays with his son Aidan. Darnell and his son met numerous MLB stars while taking a tour of the facilities. It was Aidan's first time watching a live baseball game.
During their visit, Darnell and his son met Blue Jays' leadoff hitter George Springer before meeting Vladdy and manager John Schneider as well. A video of the tour can be seen below:
Darnell, 29, has played his entire career for the Oilers since they drafted him seventh overall in the 2013 draft. Last season, his side had a successful campaign, getting to the Stanley Cup finals, but eventually ended the season on a sour note as they lost the series 4-3 to the Florida Panthers.
Blue Jays rout Angels as Gausman strikes out 10
The Toronto Blue Jays finished off their four-game home series against the Los Angeles Angels with an 8-2 win at Rogers Center on Sunday. With this latest victory, the hosts sealed a four-game series sweep against their visitors.
Starting pitcher Kevin Gausman recorded a quality outing on the mound, with 10 Ks and only one run allowed in seven innings. The offense also showed up for the hosts, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. recording two RBIs and catcher Alejandro Kirk hitting a home run and driving in three runners.
While everything has been clicking for the hosts, it has been pretty much the opposite for the Angels. Now having lost their last five, they will look to bounce back in their next series against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jays head to Fenway Park to take on the Boston Red Sox. With the Red Sox chasing potential postseason qualification and both offenses coming off late, the upcoming series may be high-scoring and entertaining.
The Toronto faithful will hope their side can carry forward the momentum of their last four wins and make it five in a row come Monday.
