WATCH: Olivia Dunne shares rare clip as boyfriend Paul Skenes attempts gymnastics stunts
Paul Skenes knows how to strangle hitters at the plate, but does he know how to do gymnastics? His girlfiend Olivia Dunne, a renowned gymnast, answers in her latest video on social media.
Dunne has been doing gymnastics since an early age and won the NCAA crown with her LSU Tigers in April. For Skenes, it's baseball, as he won the World Series with LSU in 2023 before being picked first overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In Dunne's latest video, the LSU gymnast shared highlights of the couple's gymnastics duel. While Dunne shone in floor exercise, Skenes attempted to do a somersault of a kind with proper stuffing where he landed. Here's the TikTok video:
Of course, he's not a professional at it. The thing he's professional at is dominating from the mound, and he seems to be doing well at the highest level.
Paul Skenes has been sensational since making his debut in May. He also earned his first All-Star selection in his rookie year. He's at the top of the NL Rookie of the Year honors list. In 14 games, Skenes has gone 6-1, posting a 1.99 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 107 strikeouts.
Olivia's "not Dunne yet," will return to LSU for final year
Earlier in July, Olivia Dunne announced her return to LSU for her fifth and final season. She's getting the extra year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 21-year-old posted a video where she read her message about her return and what she wants to achieve next season.
"Dear LSU, these past four years have changed my life," Dunne said in a video. "There’s something about putting on a purple and gold leotard. There’s something about competing in front of 13,000 screaming Tiger fans.
"There’s something about being pushed by your coaches to do your very best. And there’s something about being part of a team that made school history. No matter how many opportunities come my way off the mat, there’s just something about LSU. And that’s why I’m here to say, I’m not Dunne yet."
Olivia Dunne will be joining teammates Haleigh Bryant, Sierra Ballard, Chase Brock and Alyona Shchennikova, all of whom are playing their final season to retain the NCAA crown with the program.
