"We are under physical" - Juan Soto's agent Scott Boras refuses to talk about Dominican after record breaking Mets deal

The biggest name of the free-agent class has fallen after Juan Soto agreed to his deal with the New York Mets on Sunday. The two sides approved a whopping 15-year, $765 million contract.

This marks the largest free-agent contract in MLB history. Soto takes the top spot just after a year following Shohei Ohtani's 10-year, $700 million contract he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers last offseason.

Fresh off getting the deal done, Soto's agent, Scott Boras spoke on Wednesday during Day 3 of the MLB Winter Meetings. However, he did not have much to say about the newly signed star.

"We're under physical so I can't really talk about Soto" said Boras.

Juan Soto's contract is not official until he passes a physical. Boras cannot speak on the matter until everything is finalized.

While it is a rare occurrence, there is always the chance of a failed physical. NFL All-Pro returner Kene Nwangwu failed a physical earlier this year, leading to his trade to the New Orleans Saints being blocked.

The Mets fanbase should be excited about the club's future. After years of missing out on the league's top free agents, they finally come out on top and this could be the start of a new trend.

Stars often want to play with other stars. Having guys like Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor will certainly help this club be a premier destination for other free agents and in trades.

According to Boras, the club is not done this winter. They have plans to continue to do their best this offseason in bringing in the most competitive team they can.

"I think it's pretty evident that the Mets have decided they are going to pursue winning and winning for a long time. They have made it very clear to us that they're not limited to signing one great player, but multiple great players" said Boras.

The club could look toward somebody like Christian Walker is they do not feel they can get a deal done with Pete Alonso. He would be a solid replacement for the four-time All-Star.

There is also star pitcher Roki Sasaki available for all teams to snag. The Japanese ace could be an excellent addition to a rotation already featuring fellow countryman Kodai Senga.
