What would the Giants' batting lineup look like at the top if they manage to get Juan Soto? ft. Tyler Fitzgerald, Matt Chapman, and LaMonte Wade Jr.
Like much of the league, Juan Soto is a player that the San Francisco Giants would love to sign this winter. He is the best player on the open market and could change the course of this franchise that has not been to the postseason since 2021.
San Francisco could use all the help they can get, especially in the division they play in. The NL West is no joke with the reigning World Series champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres.
Signing Soto could make the club a contender going into next season. They would have a solid lineup that teams would not be able to overlook. Here is what their lineup could look like with Soto aboard.
- Jung Hoo Lee
- Juan Soto
- LaMonte Wade
- Matt Chapman
- Mike Yastrzemski
- Tyler Fitzgerald
- Heliot Ramos
- Patrick Bailey
- Casey Schmitt
Jung Hoo Lee and Soto would make for a two-headed monster to start games. However, that would not be their Opening Day lineup. Lee is not expected to be ready for the first game as he is still recovering from a torn labrum.
Giants need to get to work if they want to sign Juan Soto
Juan Soto's free agency has started to heat up over the past week. Teams have gotten ahead of others in terms of meetings and contract offers, which is not a good sign for Giants fans.
They are one of the teams that have not jumped the gun. They are behind teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays.
This is not a player that you can wait around on. For a team that missed out on Shohei Ohtani last year, all could be forgiven with a big push for Soto.
